I called the new owner with the news. Dumbfounded I had them check all the vins to see if they were all the same. Upon searching they found that behind the motor, the firewall was still pear white. **Here is my theory. Since the car had a salvage title in 1991 I think it was a theft recovery. Back then the car, especially a Shiro with racing seats and black interior would have been something to get your hands on if you were a thief. I think the car was stolen, recovered, then had all the missing parts replaced with new or close to new (at the time) interior, and wheels, then just painted the whole car to whatever color they liked at the time. That being said it would make perfect since because whoever got the car in 91 kept the interior and car mint ever since then. I had him check the title and he said it was perfectly clean so I guess its been cleaned somewhere down the road or something, dunno. After I see a car fax we will know more. If the car can be fully restored to a Shiro, maybe it will be an even better investment.
